ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Dr. Jemelaa is a deep and strong social thinker with humble soul and enhanced natural ability to share her thoughts and ideas with everyone effortlessly. From a very young age she was intolerant towards any discrimination and injustice done towards women. Even during her school and college years, she had actively raised her voice against such intolerable acts towards women.

During such a young age, she witnessed several child marriages happening in many families where female children were not allowed to go to school and were married off at an early age of 14 -15 years. She also witnessed the atrocity of female infanticide being conducted in a casual manner in several villages in Dharmapuri district.

Witnessing such atrocities towards women at such a young age made a deep impact in her mind, which sparked an intense determination in her, to become a socially active citizen, to actively engage herself against such atrocities while she grew up.

OBJECTIVES

• VOW 10 are ten specific Objectives that Dr. Jemelaa is striving to make it a reality in our nation.
• These objectives primarily revolve around women Equality & Empowerment for women.They are as follows:
• There must be equal representation of women in Indian politics, business, & other industries.
• Destroy the gender pay gap: Equal pay for equal work must become a reality across genders.
• Domestic responsibilities must be equally shared between genders.
• Respectable portrayal of women in the media
• Educate children on the importance of gender quality so as to break the gender stereotypes from childhood.
• Protection for women against violence, harassment, abuse, etc., at both home, work and in public places.
• Individual freedom for women in speech, activities & dressing.
• Make punishment for crimes against women severe.
• Stop female foeticide and infanticide.
• Make our nation safe for women.
